No School Today

It's 7:30am, the wind is whipping and the snow is falling!!! I wonder if the kids will let me curl up with a good book and a latte . . .

Ooh, la la! That looks cold! I'm sure if the kids have a nice hot chocolate and a book, you'll all be good for a while anyway.

Oh Yvette...how beautiful! We were hoping for at least a dusting here, but it never made it this far south. Have a great day...Debbie

No...we had a two hour delay today...I think you all got a little bit more than we did down here.
I was so ready for them to go back...they've been home for 6 days! lol
We made a snowman yesterday...he's still standing too. Enjoy the day!

I won't bother to tell you what we have had here in Chicago, but we're in the midst of a warming trend. It is supposed to get to 30 today and possibly as high as 38 tomorrow before we drop back into the teens for the weekend.

Icicles hanging from roof lines and gutters are easily reaching 3 to 4 feet in length. But, inasmuch as I don't have to go out if I don't wish, it is bearable and cozy in my home office.

Your mother remembers fondly the many years we lived in Virginia when a light dusting would close schools and you all stayed home and baked cookies.

I look at pictures of Kate in China and compare them with recent photos. Healthy, happy, enjoying life.
My darling Yvette, so proud!

Read comments re snow.
Just come to Chicago! We have dagger icicles on the roof; ice over the driveway; on the deck table and bird baths a two feet plus coating of hardened snow. The gutters and downspouts have burst their seams, the basement flooded; four inches of rain on top of snow. What joy. But your Dad and I take things in stride, new gutters etc, sump pump in the basement - this 1896 Old Victorian house is indeed priceless. Yours in our will!
